The Golden Age

By Louis Nowra. This play of diversity, based on real events, explores what happens to a group of people “discovered” in the wilds of 1939 Borneo. It is a story of how obsessions, war, and cultural misunderstandings lead to a strange and tragic confrontation.
Co-directed by Terry Converse and Phyllis Gooden-Young.
- A panel discussion will follow the February 8 opening performance in Jones Theatre.
- VPLAC will host a pre-performance lecture by playwright Louis Nowra on Thursday, February 15, at 6:30 p.m. in Jones Theatre, Daggy Hall.
- VPLAC will host a Q&A with Mr. Nowra on Friday, February 16, at 12:10 p.m. in the Bundy Reading Room, Avery Hall.
- The Student Entertainment Board will host a screening of Così and dialogue with Mr. Nowra from 2:00–5:00 p.m. in Todd Hall 216.
