About the Director
Dr. Converse is a professor of theatre in the Department of Theatre and Dance, where he teaches all levels of Directing, Contemporary World Theatre, and Introduction to Theatre. He holds an M.F.A. in directing from the University of Minnesota and a Ph.D. in theatre arts from the University of California at Los Angeles.
Dr. Converse is the author of Directing for the Stage: A Workshop Guide of Creative Exercises and Projects. The only exercise-driven training guide on the market, it provides a progressive series of practical, challenging, and eye-opening exercises.
Dr. Converse has created innovative Web and e-mail-based programs to supplement and further intensify the interactive learning process.
