Important Announcement for Current and Prospective Speech and Hearing Sciences Students
The Department of Speech and Hearing Sciences (SHS) is moving to WSU Spokane beginning fall semester 2011. Students who will be juniors in the major effective fall 2009 will have the opportunity to complete their degree requirements over the next two years on the Pullman campus. Students are encouraged to contact our academic coordinator, Lauri Sue Torkelson, at torkelson@wsu.edu or 509-335-4525 if they have any questions.
As of fall 2009, all incoming students who intend to certify in the future as majors in SHS at Washington State University and who cannot complete all degree requirements prior to fall 2011 should plan to relocate to the WSU Spokane – Riverpoint campus for upper-division courses required for the SHS major. Students may continue to take general education requirements, introductory SHS courses, and electives on the Pullman campus prior to transitioning to Spokane for degree completion. With the exception of the Tier III requirement, General Education Requirements are not offered at WSU Spokane - Riverpoint.
As of fall 2011, speech and hearing sciences postbaccalaureate students and transfer students who have successfully fulfilled the General Education Requirements, or whose remaining requirements may be fulfilled via online offerings, will attend WSU Spokane – Riverpoint.
