Comments from Sociology Graduates
What can you do with a sociology degree? Here's how recent graduates from WSU's Department of Sociology have used the skills and knowledge gained from earning their BA degrees!
"After graduation I was hired as a case manager with ElderHealth Northwest, an Adult Day Health center. I was thrilled to be offered a position by the same agency where I did my internship. I love working with seniors and feel very fortunate to be doing something that I truly enjoy."

"I recently accepted a job as a Budget Analyst with the Department of Social and Health Services here in Washington . Thanks so much for everything. As you know, I was worried about finding professional work with only my BA. Those concerns have obviously been put to rest!"
--May 2006 Graduate, Double major: Sociology and Political Science
"I'm currently working as a patient advocate at a large medical center. I am glad that I had the chance to 'try out' this type of work right out of school. I'm looking forward to moving into something more policy related, however. I have found that I really love the world of social research and social policy. Working in an area like "housing" for the city of Seattle , for example, would allow me to combine my interests in social welfare with my research and writing skills by attending to those social forces that impact where people can afford to live."
--December 2005 Graduate, Double major: Sociology and Human Development
"I have put in 19 employment applications and on my first interview I got a fantastic job at the local Community Action Center ! I will be working there while I apply for graduate school to earn my Master of Social Work; they said that I am a perfect candidate for their program! As someone who never finished high school, but earned my GED, I am very proud of all that I have accomplished."
