Alexander A. & Agnes "Odegard" Smick Scholarship

 

(Scholarship is Awarded by the Department of Community & Rural Sociology)

 

Award: Dollar amount varies.

Purpose: To encourage undergraduate or graduate students who intend to pursue an applied course of study in the field of rural community service and development.

Eligibility: All graduate and undergraduate students currently enrolled.

Application: Nomination by a faculty member and a completed application, the later of which should be returned to the Department of Community and Rural Sociology, typically due in November.

Criteria:Expressed interests of students and activities related to the field of rural community service and development, scholastic achievement, and letters of recommendation from two faculty members.

Selection Procedures: Members of the Smick Scholarship Committee may award one or two scholarships per academic year.

 

 

Award Announcement: 

Before the end of each November.
