Minority Student Fellowship
Award: Up to a $2,000 cash award.
Purpose: To provide fellowship awards to graduate students selected on the basis of their commitment to research, the focus of their research experience, academic achievement, scholarship, writing ability, research potential, financial need, and racial/ethnic minority background.
Eligibility: Applicants must be members of one of the following racial/ethnic groups: Blacks/African Americans, Latinos/as, American Indians or Alaskan Natives, Asians or Pacific Islanders. Applicants must also be citizens or non-citizen nationals of the U.S., or have been lawfully admitted to the U.S. for permanent residence.
Application: Submission of the application form.
Criteria: Graduate student must meet eligibility requirements, and exhibit both academic excellence and financial need.
Selection Procedures: The Awards Committee will review all applications and select the winning applicant.

Award Announcement:
The winner will be notified by the Department Chair and a notice of recognition will be posted in the Department's display window outside the Department Office in Wilson-Short Hall. The award winner will be recognized at the Department's annual Spring banquet.
