Current Research Interests:
My central research interest lies in the study of knowledge, and in particular knowledge about the environment, environmental health, risk, and justice. I use a variety of theoretical tools to unpack the dynamic processes through which knowledge is produced, organized, and disseminated into society. I have four ongoing projects. One examines the roles and network structure of expert activists in environmental health and justice movements. Another considers “scientific/intellectual movements” as they shape the formation of academic fields. A third study focuses on expert knowledge and environmental governance. The fourth project explores the social production of knowledge gaps, lost knowledge, and “undone science.”
