Applying the RNGS framework to non-Western countries has not been a part of this project. Replicating this study outside of the West is obviously a huge and thorny undertaking. We are interested in exploring the possibilities, especially since several scholars have inquired about ways of studying women's policy offices in transitional regimes. The first step would be to invite experts of non Western countries to assess the RNGS study for usefulness. We will be looking to organize a meeting in 2008 when the RNGS study is completed.
