Festival History

The Northwest Percussion Festival was founded in 1985 by Dr. John Baldwin (Boise State University), Professor Charles Dowd (University of Oregon), and Professor Martin Zyskowski (Eastern Washington University).

The festival provides a venue for college and university percussion ensembles from the Pacific Northwest, including students, music directors, and conductors, to perform and exchange ideas on repertoire and new trends in percussion.
