Heidi Jarvis is in her eighteenth season as Conductor of the Pullman Community Symphonic Band. She is an Instructor of Music at Washington State University and has taught music education technical courses, student teacher supervision, and introduction to arts administration. Ms. Jarvis is a representative to the Teacher Education Committee and the Professional Education Advisory Board. She is the Washington State FFA State Symphonic Band Conductor, and was recently honored as the Guest Conductor of the Royal Hawaiian Band in Honolulu, Hawai'i.
Ms. Jarvis has been Director of Bands and Choir in both private and public school districts. She has served as clinician and adjudicator at local and state levels and is published with the Leblanc Bell Quarterly Educator's Viewpoint and Conn Selmer's Keynotes -- character, education, inspiration and performance. Ms. Jarvis wrote and recorded a vocal selection and assisted in the production of a CD with Viswanath K.N., composer and managing director, Theems Entertainment of India.
As an education administrator grant writer, Ms. Jarvis is a member of the Corporate and Foundation Relations team at the Washington State University Foundation.
She is the recipient of several awards including the most recent Pullman Chamber of Commerce Civic Improvement Award presented for outstanding contribution to the improvement of the community and citizen relations.
