Dr. Ruth BodenAssistant Professor of Music |
Ruth Boden teaches cello, bass, and chamber music. Ms. Boden holds a B.M. and M.M. in cello performance from the Cleveland Institute of Music, and her D.M.A. in performance from the University of Alabama. Her former teachers include Stephen Geber, Carlton McCreery, Stephen Harrison, and Elizabeth Anderson.
Ruth is an active performer and has been a member of numerous orchestras throughout the southeast, including the Pensacola Symphony, Huntsville Symphony, and Tuscaloosa Symphony among others. In addition, she has worked with several notable chamber artists including the Vermeer, Juilliard, Miami, and Cavani String Quartets and the Diaz Trio.
Ms. Boden has held positions at the University of Alabama Community Music School, Mount Union College, The College of Wooster, and University of West Florida, teaching cello, bass, music theory, orchestral literature, and string methods. While at Mount Union College, Ruth also served as the guest conductor for the Alliance Symphony Orchestra.
