David Severance joined the staff as the piano technician for the School of Music in 1984. He has been a Registered Piano Technician with the Piano Technicians Guild since 1974. David plays the piano and has a B.A. in music from Washington State University.
Severance maintains the 65 acoustic pianos for WSU that include two Italian made Fazioli concert grands. He received training at the factory in Italy in the maintenance of these fine instruments. In addition, he is contracted by Beasley Performing Arts Coliseum to take care of the resident Steinway concert grand for touring acts as well as instruments brought into the Coliseum by the artists themselves.
