University Singers
Dean Luethi, conductor
The WSU University Singers is a non-auditioned choir consisting of 70+ male and female singers. Although music majors do enroll in this choral ensemble, the majority of the group is made up of non music majors. The University Singers perform repertoire from all musical eras and perform approximately 3 times a semester.
The University Singers performs regularly with instrumental accompaniment including guitar, percussion ensemble, string orchestra, organ and piano. We perform in Bryan Hall (the Clock tower building) and rehearse in Kimbrough Hall.
Students involved in this high-energy group can expect to learn the fundamentals of vocal production, stage presence, concert etiquette, and music theory. Although we are a non-auditioned group we perform at a very high level.
For those students who have taken choir before but are not looking for an auditioned choir, this may be the right choice for you. If you have never been in a choir, are excited to learn how to sing, and are looking for an interesting experience, this is your choir!
