9:00 am features jazz interpretations of classic standards including "It Could Happen to You," "Theme for Maxine," "The Night Has Thousand Eyes," "Beatrice" and more by the duo Brian Ward, piano, and Dave Hagelganz, saxophone, both faculty members in the School of Music. The album, recorded in the WSU Recording Studio, David Bjur, engineer, is named 9:00 am because that is the time when the duo regularly rehearsed. The album is available online via a number of online services including iTunes, Rhapsody, Pandora, Spotify, Amazon mp3 and Amazon on Demand.

Zoot Suit is the latest release by the award-winning WSU Jazz Big Band directed by Greg Yasinitsky and Dave Snider. Special guest on this recording is trombonist Matt Finders, formerly with the Tonight Show Band. The recordings were made between 2009 and 2011 in the WSU Recording Studio. The album includes compositions and arrangements by Finders, Yasinitsky, WSU alum Brent Edstrom and Carroll College Music Professor Lynn Petersen. Also included are compositions by band members Patrick Sheng and Stan Sabourin along with a composition by LA composer Bill Liston.
