The WSU Opera Workshop presents performances of opera and musical theatre, providing singers and actors with the opportunity to perform exciting repertoire while developing acting and stage movement skills.
Auditions for the program are held at the beginning of each semester and are open to all singers. The audition consists of the performance of an aria, art song, or musical theatre selection, as well as a testing of aural and sight-reading skills.

Last year the fall production, entitled "American Twentieth Century Opera," consisted of scenes from Bernstein's Trouble in Tahiti, Weill's Street Scene, Menotti's The Old Maid and the Thief, as well as the entire one-act opera, The Telephone, by Menotti. "An Afternoon of Mozart" was the spring production and included highlights from Bastien and Bastienne, The Marriage of Figaro, Cosi fan tutte, The Magic Flute, Don Giovanni and the full one-act opera, The Impresario.
If you visit the WSU campus, please feel free to stop by one of our rehearsals. The class meets on Mondays and Wednesdays from 3 - 5:00 p.m. on the Bryan Hall stage.
