Bachelor of Music in Music Education — Broad Endorsement

The broad endorsement at WSU will train you lead any musical ensemble and to teach any music topic which your administer may ask you to teach.  Students in this degree program will take lessons in both their main instrument as well as an additional instrument (one of which must be voice).  Whether you plan to teach band, orchestra, or choir WSU will prepare you to be a leader in the music classroom/rehearsal.

Since there are many rural areas throughout the state and region, school districts often choose to hire one staff member to teach both the choral and instrumental students in their Middle School and High School classrooms.  This degree will prepare you for that all-encompassing position.

For a list of required courses and recommended course plan, refer to the WSU School of Music Handbook.
