Academic & Professional Interests

Gordillo teaches Chicana/o history, the history of sexuality in the U.S. 19th and 20th century, immigration and citizenship in the global economy, Latin American cultural history, modern Mexico, and the history of women in U.S. sports.

Research

Her research focuses on gendered historical processes of Mexican immigration between the United States and Mexico, emphasizing the role of women as primary sustainers of the social networks that support immigration.
