The Washington State Center for Court Research (WSCCR) is the primary source of research support for the Administrative Office of the Courts (AOC). Established in 2004, they provide application research for judges, clerks, offenders, victims and legal advocates. Their work with the Institute is developing and ongoing, with recent collaborative work surrounding the implementation of the Adult Static Risk Assessment (ASRA) for pre-trial system usage. Additional WSCCR projects and publications can be found at http://www.courts.wa.gov/wsccr.
WSU and the Department of Criminal Justice and Criminology, in collaboration with the Division of Governmental Studies and Services (DGSS), established a partnership with the Washington State Department of Corrections (WADOC). Initially, the partnership began in 2010 with the establishment of a data sharing agreement that allows WSU access to DOC offender data. This agreement extends through 2021 and has been integral in the facilitation of efficient project analysis and grant writing. In 2011, WADOC provided funds to establish the Division’s data analyst position, with the sole purpose of furthering the joint goals and research projects of the Institute and WADOC. Since the initial agreement, the partnership has resulted in several publications, reports, and funded projects (see Projects and Publications pages for more details).
