David A. Makin, Ph.D., received a Bachelor's in Science in Criminal Justice from Pennsylvania State University, a Master's in Science from the University of Louisville, where he completed a Fellowship within the Southern Police Institute, and a Doctoral degree from Washington State University. His research interests include the relationship between technology, society, and criminal justice, policing, comparative criminal justice, and research methods. His recent publications have appeared in Criminal Justice Policy Review and Forensic Science Policy & Management: An International Journal. Dr. Makin is also an accomplished educator across resident and online teaching modalities having developed, evaluated, and taught online courses for over a decade. He is certified on several course-learning platforms and has received several certifications within online teaching pedagogy. He has authored over two dozen courses for academic institutions over the years at the undergraduate and graduate levels.
