Dr. Lutze's current research interests include the rehabilitative nature of prison environments, the impact of ultra-masculine environments on inmate adjustment, offender adjustment to community corrections supervision, and violence toward women. She teaches criminal justice courses related to corrections and to gender and justice.

Douglas A. Orr is a 25-year law enforcement veteran who has served as a commissioned police officer in South Carolina, Idaho, and Washington. Dr. Orr is nationally certified as a polygraph examiner through the American Polygraph Association. Dr. Orr is EnCE certified as well through Guidance Software. He also holds membership in the Academy of Criminal Justice Sciences, the American Society of Criminologists, and the Homicide Research Working Group.

Dr. Vila's research areas include criminology theory development; the impact of bio-physical, social, and behavioral factors on police performance and discretionay behavior; interdisciplinary research techniques (esp. geographic information systems, mathematical modeling, historical analysis, and evaluation); the evolution of culture in human societies; and street gangs.
