Faculty

The program has 10 faculty members who specialize in criminal justice and 5 faculty members who specialize in public policy, public administration, and public law.

Criminal Justice Faculty

  • Jeff Bouffard (WSU Pullman)

  • Leana Bouffard (WSU Pullman)

  • David Brody (WSU Spokane) received his Ph.D. from the State University of New York at Albany in 1997 and his J.D. from the University of Arizona in 1990. He specializes in criminal law, adjudication process, jury research, and justice policy.

  • Laurie Drapela (WSU Vancouver) received her Ph.D. from the University of Texas in 2001. She specializes in juvenile delinquency and criminological theory.

  • Mike Erp (WSU Spokane) received his M.S. in political science from Washington State University in 1990. He specializes in community oriented policing, public administration, and the effects of domestic violence on children.

  • Faith Lutze (WSU Pullman) received her Ph.D. from The Pennsylvania State University in 1996. She specializes in corrections and gender and justice.

  • Otwin Marenin (WSU Pullman) received his Ph.D. from UCLA in 1973. He specializes in policing and international and comparative criminal justice.

  • Travis Pratt (director of criminal justice, WSU Pullman) received his Ph.D. from the University of Cincinnati in 2001. He specializes in criminological theory, corrections, and comparative criminal justice.

Public Policy, Public Administration, and Public Law

  • Cornell Clayton (WSU Pullman) received his Ph.D. from Oxford University in 1990. He specializes in public law and American politics, civil liberties, and the judicial process.

  • Nicholas Lovrich (director of the Division of Governmental Studies and Services, WSU Pullman) received his Ph.D. from UCLA in 1971. He is the Claudius O. Johnson Distinguished Professor of Political Science. He has numerous research interests related to criminal justice, public administration, and public policy.

  • Mitch Pickerill (WSU Pullman) received his Ph.D from the University of Wisconsin, Madison, in 2000 and his J.D. from Indiana University School of Law in 1991. He specializes in constitutional law, administrative law, civil liberties, judicial process, and jurisprudence and legal theory.

  • Steven Stehr (WSU Pullman) received his Ph.D from UC–Berkeley in 1991. He specializes in public administration, public policy and emergency response management.

  • Edward Weber (WSU Pullman) received his Ph.D. from the University of Wisconsin, Madison, in 1996. He specializes in public administration, public policy, and environmental politics.
