Internal Grants & Awards

Berry Family CLA Faculty Excellence Fellows  NEW
Deadline: April 14, 2008
Supports faculty transformational innovations that directly engage students at any level and support demonstrable faculty excellence; provides financial support to CLA faculty members to engage students through innovative teaching, scholarship, creative activity, or outreach. Funds permitting, 2 fellowships of up to $12,500 will be awarded each year.

Edward R. Meyer Grant Development Award
Deadline: October 1 and April 1
Provides support for a faculty member to develop a substantial grant proposal for submission to an extramural agency or foundation. Awards granted each fall and spring.

Edward R. Meyer Project Award
Deadline: October 1 and April 1
Supports the scholarly and instructional efforts of the College of Liberal Arts. All tenured and tenure-track faculty are eligible to apply. Given equally meritorious applications, preference will be given to the support of junior faculty. Awards granted each fall and spring.

CLA Faculty Travel Grant Program
Deadlines: October 1 and April 1
Allows tenured and tenure-track faculty to conduct data-gathering trips, present original research at national and international conferences, and develop collaborative opportunities in support of the faculty member’s scholarly and creative activities. Travel that will significantly advance the impact of faculty research and creative activity is most appropriate for this competition.

CLA Support for Major Extramural Grant Development
Deadline: October 31 and April 30
Supports the development of significant extramural grants that will promote world-class scholarship and help to build the grants infrastructure of the college. Successful proposals will lead to the submission of extramural grants of at least $100,000.

WSU Foundation New Faculty Seed Grant Program
Deadline: February 15, 2008
Encourages junior-level faculty to develop research, creative, or scholarly programs that provide the potential for extramural support.

The CLA Proposal Support Team assists faculty in locating and securing external funding. E-mail Susan Cunnington to find out more or to take advantage of these services.

Office of Grant & Research Development
Assists WSU faculty and graduate students in securing extramural support for their scholarly, research, teaching, and community service activities.
