Transfer Student Info
The College of Liberal Arts requires the following course work in addition to General Education Requirements. These college requirements have already been incorporated into the 8-semester departmental degree plans in the WSU Catalog.
6 hrs. of Arts and Humanities [H, G], Social Sciences [S, K], OR Intercultural Studies [I, G, K]
Credits must be outside the student's major department or program in addition to the General Education Requirement.
2 hrs. of Sciences [B, P, Q]
Must include a 1-credit laboratory [L] outside the student's major department or program in addition to the General Education Requirement.
1 year (2 semesters or 3 quarters) at the university level OR 2 years at the high school level of 1 foreign language
Demonstrated proficiency by means of a Foreign Language Examination may substitute for actual course work.
Transfer students are responsible for meeting the above College of Liberal Arts requirements. This includes those holding the approved associate of arts and associate of science degree from Washington community colleges or associate of arts Oregon transfer degree from an Oregon community college.
Writing Requirement
WSU requires successful completion of a writing portfolio before you graduate. Get a head start by saving your best papers from community college courses; papers should have been turned in for credit and have the instructors' original marks on them.
