Assistant Professor, Chicana/o Studies

Applicants are especially sought with potential research programs and teaching interests in Chicana/o Studies, preferred geographic focus in the Pacific Northwest, and consideration for other areas/regions within the U.S. Preferred research foci include one or more of the following: immigration and global economy, politics, gender, social justice, and education. Candidates will have earned Ph.D. by date of hire in the social sciences or humanities. Preference will be given for degrees in Ethnic Studies, Women's Studies, American Studies, or other interdisciplinary programs. Position requirements include: 1) teaching core undergraduate ethnic studies courses and graduate courses in the American Studies program; 2) developing and maintaining a productive research program; 3) supervising undergraduate and graduate student research; 4)maintaining an ongoing record of scholarly productivity; and 5) having an active service commitment to the Chicana/o-Latina/o community. Demonstrated ability to teach at the university-level, together with the ability to develop course(s) in the candidate's area(s) of specialization in the broad discipline of ethnic studies, is desired.
