Shawn is assisting Dr. Kim Christen with the "Plateau Peoples' Web Portal and Archive" in collaboration with the Plateau Center for American Indian Studies and WSU's Holland Library Special Collections.

He taught CES 171, Introduction to Native American Studies, during the 2009 summer session.

His research interests include tribal sovereignty and Indian law; cross-cultural analysis of table top role-playing games (RPGs) and massively multiplayer RPGs (MMORPGs); and representation of "Indians" in popular culture, especially video games and RPGs.
