Minors

To receive a minor, students are expected to fulfill all of the University's requirements for graduation, as well as the course work for the given minor. Courses for the minor may not be taken pass/fail.

Comparative Ethnic Studies

A minor in comparative ethnic studies requires a minimum of 18 hours of course work in CES, including CES 201 and 15 additional credits, 9 of which must be 300- or 400-level courses taken in residence at WSU or through WSU-approved education abroad or educational exchange courses.

Queer Studies

A minor in queer studies requires a minimum of 16 hours, at least 9 hours of which must be in upper-division work and taken in residence at WSU or through WSU-approved education abroad or educational exchange courses.

Additional Courses

Choose at least 4 credit hours from the following electives:

  • W St 300: Intersections of Race, Class, Gender, and Sexuality [S,M]
  • W St 317: Gay and Lesbian Literature [H,D]
  • W St 410: Internship
  • W St 481: Theoretical Issues in Women's Studies [M]
  • W St 499: Special Problems (Independent Study)

Women's Studies

A minor in women's studies requires a minimum of 16 credit hours, of which 9 hours must be upper-division work and taken in residence at WSU or through WSU-approved education abroad or educational exchange courses.
