CES Internships
Comparative ethnic studies at WSU came into existence through struggle, with a commitment to political action and increased awareness of social justice issues, and an understanding that scholarship must be linked with community work. CES creates an intellectual space that promotes transformative knowledge through critical thinking and social praxis.
In an effort to institutionalize our commitment to applied education with respect to social justice issues and to strengthen relations with the community at large, all CES majors are required to hold an internship before they are awarded their degree. This requirement allows students to apply their education through service in a community-based or social justice organization.
