Alex Kuo is Writer-in-Residence and a professor in English. He teaches creative writing (fiction, poetry, non-fiction), Native American literature and western American culture.
His publications include more than 350 poems, stories, essays and photographs in magazines, and the books The Window Tree (poems) in 1974, New Letters from Hiroshima (poems) in 1974, Changing the River (poems) in 1986, Chinese Opera (novel) in 1998, This Fierce Geography (poems) in 1998, Lipstick and Other Stories (short stories) in 2001, Panda Diaries (novel) in 2006.
Lipstick and Other Stories was awarded the American Book Award for Fiction in 2002.
