LeRoy Ashby is a Professor of History and teaches twentieth-century American history and a graduate American
Studies/History course on popular culture.
He received the WSU President's Faculty Excellence Award in Instruction in 1983 and was honored as the 1990 and 1993
CASE Professor of the Year for the State of Washington.
Ashby is the author of The Spearless Leader: Senator Borah and the Progressive Movement in the 1920's (1972),
Saving the Waifs; Reformers and Dependent Children (1984), William Jennings Bryan: Champion of
Democracy (1987), Fighting the Odds, The Life of Senator Frank Church (1994) and I (1997).
