Jose Alamillo

 

Jose Alamillo is an Assistant Professor of Comparative Ethnic Studies. His research interests include Chicano/Latino Studies, Racial and Ethnic Studies, US Labor and Working Class History, Race and Sport, and Oral History Methodology.

Publications include Making Lemonade out of Lemons: Mexican American Labor and Leisure in a California Town, 1880-1960 (2006), and "Parading Ethnic Identities," Journal of American Ethnic History. He also has a book manuscript in progress on "The Making of a Mexican American Sporting Culture in Los Angeles, 1920-1945."
